Introduction

To ensure we deliver the highest quality mentorship, we recently embarked on an intensive and rigorous selection process to bring three exceptional individuals on board. These mentors, Kavya, Arjun and Rohan will each oversee specific schools and have the responsibility of nurturing young minds in their care. Here's a glimpse into the exhaustive process that led to their selection.

The Selection Process

Our mentor selection process was designed to identify candidates who not only had the technical know-how but also possessed the passion and dedication necessary to mentor underprivileged students effectively. The process included a detailed application and an interview stage.

  • Application Stage: The candidates were required to complete a comprehensive application that assessed their commitment and availability. They were asked to choose their preferred time frame, whether it be the Summer Module, the Joint Summer & Autumn Module, or the Autumn Module, which demonstrated their flexibility and commitment to the program.

  • Weekly Commitment: We asked our applicants to disclose the amount of time they believed they could devote to the program on a weekly basis. This was a crucial factor in determining their suitability for the role, as it demonstrated their readiness to invest their time and effort.

  • Essay Prompt 1: Applicants were asked to articulate their motivation for mentoring underprivileged students as part of Project Yantrikta in 100 words. This essay provided insight into their passion for the cause and their ability to communicate effectively.

  • List of Achievements: Candidates were required to share their three most important achievements, with a preference for a mix of academic and co-curricular activities. This allowed us to assess their competence and ability to excel in different domains.

The Interview Stage

Following a thorough review of the applications, the most promising candidates were invited for interviews. During these interviews, we delved deeper into their motivations, assessed their ability to connect with and inspire students, and gauged their commitment to the program's objectives.

The Exceptional Trio

Kavya Murugan, Arjun Choudhary, and Rohan Vasal emerged as the standouts among a pool of highly qualified candidates. Their passion for mentoring underprivileged students as part of Project Yantrikta shone through, and their achievements, both academically and in co-curricular activities, illustrated their well-rounded skill sets.

With the mentorship of our experienced team, they underwent training sessions, learning the do's and don'ts of effective mentorship. This is an iterative process, and we're confident that they will improve based on the feedback they receive from their students. The commitment and enthusiasm that these mentors bring to the table align perfectly with Project Yantrikta's vision of inspiring innovation and bridging educational gaps.

We couldn't be more excited to welcome Kavya, Arjun, and Rohan into the Project Yantrikta family. They embody the spirit of empowerment and dedication, and we look forward to the transformative impact they will have on the underprivileged youth in their charge.

In the next few months, we will be looking to expand our set of mentors even further and will open mentor applications once again.

They have cleared every hurdle, and we are thrilled to have them on board as they embark on their journey of mentorship, inspiring innovation and creating brighter futures for the next generation of problem solvers.
